Castaway
From Beachbum Berry's "Grog Log", this deceptively simple drink is based in the Jamaican Dust from Durian's Red Hand Restaurant in New York City. This drink has three things to mix together - Jamaican rum, pineapple juice and Kahlua. It's not a cloyingly sweet tropical concoction but well balanced and very tasty indeed.
Surprisingly good for 3 ingredients, the Kahlua and pineapple are an interesting flavor althought a little one dimensional. It's not my favorite Kahlua/ pineapple combination, that would be the Mr Bali Hai. 3/5 stars
