Pahoehoe is the Hawaiian word for a dark, smooth or ropey lava flow. The drink is rumored to have originated in the Batik Bar of the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel in the 70s.
Bold flavors, predominantly passion fruit and citrus but very tart. I chalk this up as another vintage drink that doesn't translate to contemporary standards. 3/5 stars
