Simple Syrup is very easy to make. There are some choices regarding the sugar. Super fine sugar will dissolve very easily and is always a good choice for making syrups or adding to cocktails. Other sugars can bring more flavor complexity like turbinado, muscovado, demerara, or brown sugar. To help with dissolving large grain sugars you can use warm or hot water.
Just follow the Perfect Drink recipe. First pour the sugar in to the jar.
Then, add the water. If you use bottled or distilled water your syrup may last longer.
Seal the jar and shake vigorously for a few seconds then let it set for a few minutes. Depending on the sugar you use, you may need to shake a few more times until all the sugar is dissolved.
