The Gimlet is a classic cocktail of gin and lime juice. It shares a
similarity to the daiquiri, which is made with rum instead of gin. This
recipe is closest to the description in the famous Raymond Chandler novel The
Long Goodbye: "a real gimlet is half gin and half Rose's lime juice
and nothing else."
