Dry Rob Roy
Created at the Waldorf Astoria in 1894, this cocktail was named in honor
of the premiere of the operetta Rob Roy
which was based on the life of the Scottish hero. It is similar to a
Manhattan, but is made with Scotch instead of Bourbon. A Dry
Rob Roy is made with dry vermouth, while a Perfect
Rob Roy is made with equal parts sweet and dry vermouth.
