Prototype Engineer for Electro-Mechanical Assembly
We're looking for a candidate to help design, document, and build electo-mechanical prototypes. Everything from soldering PCBs and laser cutting boards to drawing CAD for custom hardware and fittings.
What you'll do:
- The Electro-Mechanical Technician helps bring to life new product prototypes developed by Perfect Company
- He/she is self-directed problem-solver who enjoys the hands-on challenge of building new devices and appliances in a fast-paced innovative environment
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting in the rapid mechanical and electrical assembly of industrial kitchen equipment prototypes
- Assembling core components and sub-assemblies based on best practices including torque control, ESD safe handling, and attention to detail
- Testing assemblies prior to build out and perform functional testing on complete systems
- Reading and comprehending engineering drawings, schematics, test/assembly instructions and Bills of Materials
- Fitting, aligning and adjusting components and assemblies within close tolerances
- Creating custom parts with standard prototyping tools such as laser cutters and 3D printers
- Communicating issues to Design and Management Team to drive continuous improvement
Required skills and experience:
- 2 years of electro-mechanical assembly experience preferred
- Experience debugging PCB’s and complex system products is a plus
- Experience with ESD material handling practices and knowledge of IPC-A-610
- Experience with CAD is a plus
- Experience working in a product development, team-oriented environment
- Ability to use basic troubleshooting tools like Multimeter & Oscilloscope
- Ability to work within tight deadlines in a fast-moving environment is critical
