Beer Cheese Soup

Beer Cheese Soup is a staple in the state of Wisconsin. It's traditionally served with popcorn on top. Other delicious garnishes include crispy bacon, croutons, herbs, chives, scallions, and fried onions. The beer and cheese used can greatly affect the flavor of the soup. Sharp aged cheddar is ideal. As for the beer, a stout or ale work well, but feel free to use one that you enjoy or have on hand.
