Kalamata Olive Tapenade

Tapenade, a blend of olives, capers, anchovies and herbs, is a spread usually served with crudites or crusty bread. With these strong flavors combined, a little goes a long way. This appetizer is commonly served with Italian and French cuisine and would also be delicious with Mediterranean dishes or your own unique preparations. Feel free to omit or substitute any of the ingredients to create your own variation. Also, you may prefer to use a food processor or mortar and pestle to achieve a smoother texture if desired.
