Salted Bourbon Caramel Sauce
A rich, delicious caramel sauce perfect for pouring over just about anything. It goes amazingly well with apple almond bread pudding. When cooking the sugar and water do not stir it, just let it cook, and when adding the heavy cream to the hot caramel add it very slowly and a little at a time. The mixture will bubble up quite a bit and overflow if you're not careful. You can also make this ahead of time and keep it in the fridge until you need it. Just microwave it for 2 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds, until warm.
