Lemon Pastry Cream
Lemon zest steeped in milk is a simple way to brighten the flavor of a custard and lift your spirits. Citrus oils are known for brightening your mood as well as your food! Here’s an idea for an easy dessert: place a dollop of this chilled pastry cream in a bowl and top with fresh blueberries. If you happen to have a lavender plant near by, toss a few pieces in the bowl. The flowers are delicious with lemon and blueberries.
