Mint Chocolate Brownies

There are many ways to create mint chocolate brownies. These methods often rely on adding some variation of mint chocolate candy to the top of a brownie. In this recipe we wanted to control the level of mint and balance it with just the right amount of sweetness so the mint flavor shined but didn't feel overpowering. Making a simple American-style buttercream with peppermint extract to top the brownie with seemed like a good solution, and also created a pretty top layer—but why stop there? To add to the WOW factor of these beauties we added a candy bar style ganache on top of the peppermint buttercream for a delicious brownie you won't soon forget.
